How we repair brick and mortar
For deteriorated joints, we grind or rake out the failed mortar to a sound depth and repoint with fresh mortar matched to the original — the process detailed on our repointing page. For damaged brick, we remove the affected units and replace them with matching brick, tying the repair into the surrounding masonry.
Matching matters: mortar color and composition, brick size and tone. Done well, the repair blends in and, more importantly, restores the joint's job of keeping water out of the structure.
